Day 16: Sunday, Jan. 3rd

With Curacao having 38 beaches, it is difficult to choose which to visit. They are all beautiful, but each is unique, as we have discovered. It is nice to have a vehicle, so that we are not limited to just the beaches close by. Today we traveled to the far West end of the island, Westpunt, with Jason and Talie. We had lunch at the Playa Forti restaurant.

We then visited the Grote Knip beach. This may be the most beautiful water I have ever seen.

The water was so clear for some very great snorkeling. It was not the most relaxing beach experience ever though. It was very busy, which is to be expected on the weekend, but there was also a marching band playing. I just don't think the beach is quite the place for a loud marching band. It did not last too long, fortunately.

We left just before the sunset, so it was not too dark for driving home on crazy, umfamiliar roads.

It was a wonderful day! This was the final day off for Mark and Jason. They have class Monday, Tuesday, Wedsnesday and then it's crunch time with final exams on Thursday and Friday. We will return on Saturday and from what I hear about the weather, I think all of our bodies will be in a state of shock! Especially for Jake, he is loving it here!

  1. That IS beautiful water! I can't believe you're leaving on Saturday..your trip seemed to go so fast. It's freezing here in Florida so I know it must be cold in Ohio. We've been in the 30's at night. Brrr!

    Love, Kelly
